School Headmaster, Asst teacher held for misbehaving with girl students  

Malkangiri: The Malkangiri police today arrested the Headmaster and an assistant teacher of a residential school in Dangala area under Malkangiri block in the district on charges of misbehaving with girl students of the school.

Besides, the two have also been suspended from their posts by the district administration.

The move came after a Class-VII girl student of the school lodged a written complaint with the district Collector against Headmaster Prabhat Lakra and Assistant Teacher Ajay Kumar Das a few days ago.

As per the complaint, the two teachers used to misbehave with girls staying in the school hostel in inebriated condition. In fact, a girl left the hostel and quit her study after allegedly being harassed with the misbehavior by the two teachers.

With no option left, the students had secretly brought the matter to the notice of the district collector, who initiated a probe into the matter. Finding the two guilty, the Collector suspended them and lodged a complaint with police. On the basis of the complaint, police arrested the two teachers.
