Rourkela: The Principal of Ekalavya Model Residential School at Bhawanipur in Sundergarh district was placed under suspension today on charges of demanding and accepting bribe. A Physical Education Teacher (PET) of the school has also been suspended in this connection.

Sources said Principal Bijay Badaik and PET Amar Anant Patnaik had demanded Rs 60,000 bribe from a woman to provide her the job of a cook at the school.

The suspension was made by the Secretary of  Odisha Model Tribal Educational Society (OMTES).
