Schools in Odisha to reopen for Class IX students from August 16

Bhubaneswar: Students of Class IX will be allowed to attend physical classes from August 16 as the Odisha government today took a decision in this regard. In a letter, School and Mass Education department’s Principal Secretary Satyabrata Sahu stated government, government-aided and private educational institutions will be allowed to reopen for Class IX.

The teaching hour for the students will be from 9 AM to 12.30 PM excluding Sundays and public holidays.

The letter added the students will be allowed to attend classes either on online mode or offline mode after consulting their parents. Attendance is not mandatory for students in offline mode, it read.

Also, hostels for Class-IX students will reopen from August 16, 2021.

The guidelines issued by Health & Family Welfare Department and SRC-cum-ACS (DM) should be followed strictly, the letter mentioned.
