Schools to reopen in Odisha on Jan 8; here’re details

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today said schools across the State will reopen on January 8.

Initially, the schools will reopen for Class 10 and 12 students. Classes will be held for Class 10 students from January 8 to April 26 whereas Class 12 students will attend their classes from January 8 to April 28.

Practical exam of Class 10 students will be held from April 27 to May 2 and Class 12 students will be from April 29 to May 14.

The State government further informed the board exam of Class 10 students will be from May 3 to 15. The Council of Higher Secondary Education will hold exams for Class 12 from May 15 to June 11.

Here’re the detailed schedule of commencement of classes for Class 10 and Class 12 students and the board exams in Odisha:

“This decision has been taken by the government keeping in the laregr interest of the students of Class 10 and 12 so that the students of our State can timely appear for All-India competitive tests,” a statement issued by the government read.

The guidelines issued by the Health and Family Welfare Department and the SRC, Odisha will be followed strictly at the schools.

Worth mentioning, all government and private schools across the State have been closed since March 17, 2020 due to the pandemic situation.
