Scribe dead, daughter injured in road mishap in Odisha

Rourkela: In a tragic incident, a journalist died and his daughter injured in a head-on collision in Sundergarh district this morning.

The deceased was identified as Sanjay Roul, 37, a journalist of an Odia daily.

The incident took place near Kuanrmunda on Biramitrapur-Rourkela route at around 10.00 am.

According to reports, the Sanjay was travelling with his daughter in a WagonR from Biramitrapur to Rourkela when a trailer truck collided head-on with the car.

While Sanjay died on the spot, his daughter was rushed to the Ispat General Hospital (IGH) in Rourkela in critical condition.

The body of the journalist has been sent for postmortem.

The truck driver fled the spot following the incident.

Police reached the spot and launched probe into the mishap.
