Searing heat in western Odisha; Titlagarh hottest at 45 Deg C

Bhubaneswar: No respite in sight for western Odisha towns as it has turned into a cauldron due to rising mercury. The Titlagarh town today recorded the highest temperature in the state with 45 degree Celsius.

The heat wave conditions took few more towns into its grip with 14 places breaching the 40 degree mark today.

The other western Odisha towns which experienced blistering heat are: Jharsuguda (43.0), Sambalpur (42.7) Sundargarh (42.0), Hirakud (42.0), Bhawanipatna (42.6), Bolangir (43.5), Phulbani (41.6), and Sonepur (43.2).

Places in Odisha which also breached the 40 mark are Chandbali (40.7), Angul (42.7), Keonjhar (40.3), Talcher (43.3), and Malkangiri (42.5).

The increasing day temperature paralysed the normal life in several places with people preferring to stay indoors.

The heat wave condition is all likely to prevail for next few days.
