Sec 144 clamped around many temples in this Odisha district for Kartika Purnima

Jagatsinghpur: In view of possible spread of COVID-19, the district administration has ordered to clamp Section 144 around several temples in Jagatsinghpur to prohibit congregation during Kartika Purnima festival.

The prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC have been imposed around the temples to check public gathering that may lead to undesirable consequences during celebration of Kartika Purnima.

The temples where the restrictions have been clamped included — Madhuban Jagannath Temple in Paradip, Maa Sarala Temple at Kanakpur, Gada Kujang Jagannath Temple, Grameswar Temple at Panchapalli, Sarabanta Jagannath Temple at Sahadabedi, Shree Brundaban Bihari Jew in Erasama, Garoi Jagannath Temple, Nilakantheswar Temple at Korua, Gothada Matha at Gothada, Chandapura Jagannath Temple, Alana-II Jagannath Temple in Nuagaon, Dhyankund Jagannath Temple in Biridi, Muchkunda Mahadev Temple at Somanath Hat, Gatanath Mahadev Temple at Bionla, Sidhala Jagannath Temple in Jagatsinghpur, Gorekhnath Temple and Bije Kerekera in Raghunathpur area.

The restrictions will remain in force from today i.e November 28 till 30.
