Sec 144 imposed around this Odisha temple to contain spread of COVID-19

Jajpur: The Jajpur district administration today imposed prohibitory orders around the premises of Biraja Temple after a police personnel engaged in the security duty tested positive for COVID-19.
The prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC were clamped around the temple from 8 pm today till 8 am on August 25.

Trustee of Biraja Temple and Sub Collector of the district, Narayan Chandra Dhal informed that public gathering in front of the temple and around it have been banned. The decision has been taken with an aim to contain the spread of COVID-19.

If someone violates the prohibitory order, stringent action will be taken against the concerned person, he added.

So far, a total of 52 COVID-19 positive cases have been detected in the Jajpur Municipality area. As many as 35 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the infection in the town. The number of active cases stands at 17.
