Sec 144 imposed near water bodies in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district

Jharsuguda: The Jharsuguda district administration today ordered that the Sec 144 will be imposed near water bodies in the district in view of Chhath puja. Gathering of more than five people near water bodies has been banned in the district.

As per an order issued by Jharsuguda Sub Collector Shiba Toppo, the restriction near water bodies was effective from 4 pm to 6 pm on November 19. The order further stated the Sec 144 will remain in force from 4 am to 7 am and 4 pm to 6 pm on November 20 and 4 am to 7 am on November 21.

The district administration advised people to celebrate Chhath Puja at their homes as there are chances for spread of Covid in the district.
