Second dose of COVID vaccine to begin from Feb 14 in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The state Government has targeted to complete administration of the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine to all 3.50 lakh healthcare workers in the state by February 10. And, the beneficiaries will be given the second dose of the vaccine in sequence from February 14, said  Health and Family Welfare Department Director and state Vaccine In-charge Bijay Panigrahi here today.

Sharing details on implementation of vaccination drive, the official said so far 1,52,351 healthcare workers have been vaccinated in the state. The target to vaccinate 1.92 lakh beneficiaries in the state is expected to be achieved today.

The process to vaccinate the rest out of the total 3.50 lakh healthcare workers will begin from January 28, he added.

“A database is being prepared for second phase of the immunization drive.  So far, over two lakh Corona Warriors have been enlisted for the second phase vaccination. The full list will come up soon. In third phase, people aged above 50 years will be vaccinated,” Panigrahi informed.
