The hapless youth, who lodged a complaint with the Commission in the presence of well-known lawyer Biswapriya Kanungo here on Monday, urged the Commission to direct the state government to institute a high-level inquiry into the incident, initiate stern action against these jawans and a compensation of Rs 50 lakh.

As per the complaint lodged by Rahul Nayak, a native of Pangalpadar village of Kotagarh block who works as a migrant labourer in Kerala, his father Duba Nayak and mother Budi Nayak had gone to the Ladima hills in the afternoon to talk to him on their mobile phone due to network problem in the village.

“While I was having conversation with my father, I heard the cry of my mother. Since the mobile phone of my parents was on, I could hear the attack on my father. Despite several attempts to talk to my parents, there was no reply. The next day, I came to know from the media that my parents had been killed by the CRPF and the SOG jawans suspecting them as the Maoists. Soon after, I rushed to my village,” Nayak said.

He said after his arrival at his native village, police brought out the buried bodies of his parents following the demand of the irate villagers.

“I was shocked to see the bullet-ridden bodies of my parents and the chopped-off breasts of my mother. The CRPF and the SOG jawans had buried my parents after killing them. Police later conducted post mortem of my parents in the presence of the villagers,” Nayak said.

He said the jawan had attempted to rape his mother. When his father protested this, they first killed him and then his mother.

Stating that the police, in a bid to cover up its fault, termed the incident as an encounter with the Maoists, Nayak requested the Commission for its urgent intervention and necessary action.

Earlier, a fact-finding team of social activists had visited the place where the incident had taken place.
