Selfie with elephant turns fatal for Odisha youth

Angul: An attempt to click a selfie with an elephant cost a youth his life near a temple in Khamar forest range of Odisha’s Angul district today.

According to reports, Jayakrushna Nayak, the deceased hailing from Nimidibeda village in Pallahara area of the district, tried to have a selfie with the jumbo while the animal was roaming near the temple.

The elephant attacked Nayak injuring him grievously on the spot. Though Forest officials and locals tried to rescue him, he succumbed to his injuries.

In a similar incident, a person had lost his life while trying to take a selfie with an elephant in Sundargarh district in September.
