Bhubaneswar: Former parliamentarian and senior BJD leader Prasanna Kumar Patasani today joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in New Delhi. Patasani quit BJD before joining the saffron camp.

According to a source, Patasani was on tour to New Delhi when he decided to switch parties. Photos of the former MP have been making the rounds on social media since the morning. He was seen with an Uttariya (a long scarf) having the logos of the BJP on it. He was also seen in another photo while posing along with several senior BJP leaders and newly-elected MPs. The photo was captured in New Delhi.

Worth mentioning, Patasani was an aspirant for an MP ticket from the BJD during the 2019 and 2024 General Elections. However, he was not nominated by the party as its official candidate.

Following a massive poll debacle of BJD and at a time when the BJP is all set to independently form government in the State for the first time, Patasani left BJD and joined the saffron camp.
