Senior citizens in Bhubaneswar to get pick-up, drop facility for vaccination

Bhubaneswar: With an aim to help senior citizens of Bhubaneswar visit Covid vaccination centres in the city, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation decided to start pick-up and drop facilities for them for vaccination.

Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sanjay Singh informed the pick-up and drop facilities will be provided to 60+, who are staying alone in the city, up to the vaccination centre. Once they dial 1929 round-the-clock call centre and provide the address along with a request for the pick-up and drop, the municipal corporation will make an arrangement to ferry them up to the vaccination centre and drop them at their house after being vaccinated, Singh added.

He also requested senior citizens to the take the help of 1929 call center if they are unable to go to Covid testing center.

From Monday onwards, senior citizens, who cannot visit a testing centre, can avail the facility of 1929 call centre. Once the senior citizens register themselves, the mobile sample collection unit will reach their door steps and collect samples, the Municipal Commissioner added.

Vaccination slot booking for drive-in vaccination facility will begin today in www.cowin.gov.in. The drive-in vaccination in the city will resume from Monday, he informed.
