Senior woman cop alleges domestic violence by husband in Odisha

Rourkela: The Inspector In-charge (IIC) of Biramitrapur police station in Sundergarh district has leveled domestic violence allegation against her husband, who is a lecturer at a Government college here, seeking justice.

As per the complaint lodged at Raghunathpalli police station, IIC Snigdharani Suna had married 13 years ago. Three years after the marriage, her husband started torturing her both mentally and physically. Moreover, her husband has allegedly attempted to kill her. Harassed by the exploitation, the woman cop lodged a written complaint at Raghunathpalli police station on Thursday.

A case has been registered in this connection and investigation is underway, said police.

Prior to her posting at Biramitrapur, Snigdharani served as Inspector at various police stations. Her husband is a lecturer at Government Autonomous College at Panposh here.
