Sensex trades flat; healthcare stocks gain

Mumbai, Sep 25:

A benchmark index of Indian equities markets Thursday was trading flat — 29.15 points or 0.11 percent up — as healthcare stocks gained.

bseGood buying was observed in healthcare, IT and consumer durables sectors; while selling pressure was seen in oil and gas sector.

The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 26,808.66 points, was trading at 26,773.84 points (at 09.19 a.m.) in the early session, up 29.15 points or 0.11 percent from the previous day’s close at 26,744.69 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 26,814.20 points and a low of 26,738.88 points in the trade so far.

The S&P healthcare index gained 80.61 points, IT index got augmented by 77.55 points and consumer durables index moved up by 65.03 points. However, oil and gas index fell by 81.29 points.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading flat 3.05 points or 0.04 percent up at 8,005.45 points.
