Service greatest religion: Naveen

Cuttack: The service is the greatest religion and it should be the identity of Odisha people, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during a programme here today.

Addressing the members of the Biju Yuva Vahini, a youth wing of ruling BJD, at Balijatra Ground in Odisha’s silver city Cuttack, Patnaik encouraged the youth to continue their services for the people.

“I am happy that you have made service and humanity as ‘religion’ for which you joined the Biju Yuva Vahini,” he said while lauding the service of the party’s youth wing.

“Seva (service) brings discipline. Seva brings courage, seva encourages teamwork, seva needs hard work, seva needs planning. Seva requires sacrifice and determination. Seva is the greatest religion. There is no substitute for seva. Seva is a passion. For the country, seva is patriotism. Patriotism and love for the nation should be the ideology of today’s generation,” said Patnaik.

The CM insisted the Biju Yuva Vahini members be initiated into service and work for the deprived.
