Services of 2 MEMU trains to resume in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: After a pause of nearly one year, Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) train services will finally resume in Odisha in a phased manner.

“Keeping in view the problems faced by commuters, East Coast Railways (ECoR) has decided to resume services of two MEMU trains, three special trains and extend services of one train,” said a senior railway official.

The two MEMU trains will run between Bhubaneswar-Keonjhar and Puri-Angul. The special trains will ply between Puri-Hatia, Puri-Sambalpur and Puri-Paradeep. However, services of Visakhapatnam-Jagadalpur Special train have been extended to Kirandul.

Schedule of the trains:

Bhubaneswar-Kendujhargarh-Bhubaneswar MEMU

Bhubaneswar-Kendujhargarh MEMU (68426) will leave from Bhubaneswar at 4.35 PM starting March 30 and reach at Kendujhargarh at 9.35 PM. In the return direction, Kendujhargarh-Bhubaneswar MEMU (68425) will leave Kendujhargarh at 6.30 AM from March 31 and arrive at Bhubaneswar at 11.05 AM.

Puri-Angul-Puri MEMU

Puri-Angul MEMU (68422) will leave Puri at 4.45 PM starting April 5 and will reach Angul at 9.30 PM. In the return direction, Angul-Puri MEMU (68421) from Angul will leave at 5.45 AM from April 6, and arrive at Puri at 10.20 AM.

Puri-Hatia-Puri Special

Puri-Hatia Special (08452) will run from Puri starting April 1 and Hatia-Puri Special (08451) will start from Hatia from April 2 till further advice.

The train will depart Puri at 8.30 PM and reach Hatia at 10.45 AM on the following day. In the return direction, this train from Hatia will leave at 4 PM and arrive at Puri at 6.10 AM on next day having stoppages at Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Talcher, Angul, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bamra, Rajgangpur, Rourkela, Orga, Bano, Govindpur Road from both the directions.

Puri-Sambalpur-Puri Special

Sambalpur-Puri-Sambalpur Special (08303/08304) will start functioning from April 3 till further advice.

This train will leave Sambalpur at 6.AM and arrive at Puri at 12.50 PM. In the return direction, the train will depart Puri at 3.45 PM and reach Sambalpur at 10.10 PM having stoppages at Jujumura, Rairakhol, Bamur, Boinda, Jarapada, Angul, Talcher Road, Meramandali, Dhenkanal, Naraj Marthapur, Mancheswar, Bhubaneswar and Khurda Road from both the directions.

Puri-Paradeep-Puri Special

Puri-Paradeep-Puri Special (08414/08413) will start from April 7 till further advice.

The train will leave Puri at 6.15 AM and reach Paradeep at 10.15 AM. In the return direction, it will leave Paradeep at 8 PM and arrive at Puri at 10.10 PM having stoppages at Sakhigopal, Delang, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Kandarpur, Raghunathpur, Gorakhnath, Rahama and Badabandha from both the directions.

Extension of Visakhapatnam-Jagadalpur Special to Kirandul

The Visakhapatnam-Jagadalpur-Visakhapatnam Special (08516/08515) will be extended up to Kirandul from April 1.

The train will leave Visakhapatnam at 6.45 AM from April 1 and reach Kirandul at 8.45 PM. In the return direction, it will depart Kirandul at 6 AM from April 2 and arrive at Visakhapatnam at 8.20 PM.
