Seven get lifer for murder in Odisha’s Kalahandi

Bhawanipatna, Feb 2:
The Kalahandi District & Sessions Court here today convicted and awarded life imprisonment to seven accused persons in the Lanjigarh Bondkhali Sadananda Bibhar murder case.

In addition to the sentence, the court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on each of them failing which they will have to undergo additional imprisonment of another six months.
Out of the seven who have been convicted one is dead. The deceased convict is Lai Majhi.
The other six convicts are Dali Majhi (27), Laba Majhi (45), Dambru Majhi (35), Nari Majhi (40) (all from Bondkhali village) and Dhanphul Majhi (45) of Kotbundel village.
The assailants had brutally murdered Sadananda after tying him to a pole in 2014.
