Seven girls engaged as labourers rescued in Odisha

Bhadrak: As many as seven female migrant labourers were rescued by town police from a private bus in Charampa today.

According to police sources, these girls were employed at a West Bengal-based company called S S Foods in Digha area with the help of a middleman. However, their families had no clue about their employment or where they went to work.

Acting on a tip off, the police reached the spot and rescued them when they were on the way to West Bengal. These girls belong to Chandbali, Aradi and Asurali areas of Bhadrak district.

The rescued girls are being questioned by the police at Bhadrak Town Model Police Station regarding the identity of the middleman.The cops have launched a probe into the matter.
