Seven staff of SCB, one from Sishu Bhawan among 23 test positive for COVID-19 in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: As many as 23 persons from Cuttack district including seven employees of SCB Medical College and Hospital today tested positive for deadly COVID-19.

Official sources said apart from the seven employees of SCB hospital, four patients from the hospital’s isolation ward contracted the virus infection.

The sources added a person from Sishu Bhawan in Cuttack also tested COVID-19 positive.

As many as five persons from Choudwar area and one each from a private hospital and Pira Bazaar in Jagatpur area contracted the infection.

In Athagarh, three persons tested positive for the virus whereas one from Badamba area was detected as COVID-19 positive.

Meanwhile, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) said people coming from hotspot zones to the city will be sent to quarantine for 14 days.

People visiting Cuttack city from Ganjam, Gajapati, Khordha, Jajpur and Balasore districts will be sent to quarantine, the CMC said in an order.

Also, people from Narasinghpur, Badamba, Mahanga, Nischintakoili and Tigiria blocks of Cuttack district will spect 14-day quarantine period when the visit Cuttack city, the order added.
