Seven-year-old girl raped in Odisha

Brajrajnagar: A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Brajrajnagar area of Jharsuguda district today afternoon. After registering a case under Sec 376 of IPC and Sec 6 of Pocso Act, the police launched a manhunt to nab the accused.

As per reports, the minor girl went to a private coaching centre on December 1 evening. The minor girl’s father was away from home, following which her mother asked a youth known to her to bring back the minor girl.

When the minor girl returned home, she cried and asked her mother not to send the youth further to bring her back from the coaching institute. Though the mother repeatedly asked the girl about the matter, she remained mum.

Last night the girl narrated her mother about her ordeal describing how the youth raped her on the way back home from the coaching centre.

The girl’s family then informed the Jharsuguda Childline’s officials, who in turn informed the Brajrajnagar police. Following this, medical examination of the minor girl was carried out.
