Severed head of deceased elderly man recovered in Odisha’s Gajapati

Paralakhemundi: Police today recovered the severed head of an elderly man who was allegedly murdered over suspicion of practising sorcery in Odisha’s Gajapati district.

The head was found at a drain near Soura Sahi village under Mohana police limits in the district. Cops have also seized a billhook, which is suspected to be the weapon of offence.

Police have detained two persons of Benipadar village for questioning over their alleged involvement in the case. The duo had recently threatened the elderly man of killing him.

Notably, headless body of Dasu Mallick (70) was found at a forest near Bhaliasahi village under Mohana police limits yesterday. His son alleged that some villagers murdered him by severing his head with billhook over suspicion of practising sorcery.
