Sex racket at Divyang training centre in Bhubaneswar: Main accused arrested

Bhubaneswar:  The Commissionerate Police today arrested main accused Suresh Behera in connection with the allegations of sex racket running from a Divyang training centre in Palaspalli area of the state capital and sexual harassment of its inmates.

Suresh is the secretary of the training centre- All Odisha Orthopedically Handicapped Welfare Association.

Earlier on February 1, the Commissionerate Police arrested Madhu Manjari Dhal, a trainer of Divyang centre in this connection.

The incident had come to fore after a woman employee of the centre lodged a complaint at Airfield police station alleging operation of sex racket and sexual harassment of inmates at the centre. She had also alleged that several Government officials used to visit the centre. A video containing illegal activities at the centre had also gone viral on social media.

In January, the State Commission for Persons with Disabilities took Suo Motu cognizance of the allegations and launched an investigation into the same. Commission Chairperson Sulochana Das had visited the centre on January 25 for an inquiry.
