Sex racket busted in Odisha: Kingpin among 3 held, woman rescued

Bhawanipatna: A sex racket operating in a rented house at Pipelnala here in Odisha’s Kalahandi district was busted late last night.

Police have arrested three persons, including the kingpin of the racket, in this connection and rescued a woman hailing from West Bengal. The arrested have been identified as Rashmi Ranjan Singh, Ankit Kumar and kingpin Riyaz Khan.

Acting on a tip-off about the flesh trade, Bhawanipatna Town police raided the house, during which Rashmi Ranjan and Ankit Kumar were found in a compromising position.

Cops have seized four mobile phones, Rs 1380 and some objectionable items from the spot. The kingpin of the racket was earlier arrested under the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act, 1956, police sources said.
