Sex racket busted in Odisha’s Konark, seven girls rescued

Konark: Police busted sex racket and rescued seven girls including a school teacher and college girl during raids on several hotels and lodges here on Saturday night.

The raids were conducted by a team of police led by Nimapara SDPO Niranjan Padhi and comprising of women police last night on several hotels located at Market Complex where the prostitution racket was operational in the town.

Police detained nine customers and rescued seven girls including a lady school teacher and college girl, who had reportedly visited the lodges with their beaus.

The sex workers rescued during the raids were from Kolkata, Bhadrak, Pattamundai, Kisan Nagar and Oupada. Among the detained customers, two were identified as managers of the lodges.

The sex workers and customers will be produced before the court following medical examination, said SDPO Padhi.
