Sex racket busted in Odisha capital; 2 arrested

Bhubaneswar, Aug 6:

Commissionerate Police arrested a customer of 52-year-old man and a broker for their alleged involvement in running flesh trade in a rented house in the Odisha capital during a raid on the permises this evening.

The police have rescued two young girls in the age group of 25-30 years who belong to Brahmagiri area of Puri and Markatnagar area of Cuttack.

The arrested customer was identified as Dayanidhi Marandi of Kaduani village under Bisoi police limits in Mayurbhanj district and the broker as Bijay Kumar Parida (36) of Magalpur under Pipili police limits in Puri district.

Acting on a tip off, the IIC and staff of Laxmisagar police station, under the direct supervision of zonal ACP Akshaya Mishra, conducted a raid on the rented house of one Manoj Kumar Rajguru located on plot no.-696-I at Jaydurganagar in Bomikhal area where Parida was allegedly running a flesh trade and nabbed these accused from the house.

The police has registered a case no.-171/14 and slapped charged under sections 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8 of Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act 1956 against the accused. Some incriminating articles, cash worth Rs 10,800, five mobile phones and one motor cycle has been seized from them, police said.

The arrested persons will be forwarded to a local court here tomorrow, they added.
