Sex racket operating in the guise of NGO busted in Nageswartangi locality, 3 arrested

Bhubaneswar: A flesh trade racket running in the guise of a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in Nageswartangi under Lingaraj police limits of the State Capital was busted today.

Commissionerate Police-Bhubaneswar arrested three persons in this connection, including the kingpin identified as Naresh Kumar Rana. Police have rescued a sex worker following a raid.

Acting on a tip-off about the illegal activity going on in the locality, a team of personnel from the police station carried out a raid leading to the arrest of Naresh and two others, an official said.

“Allegedly, Naresh was operating the sex racket in the name of ‘Sai Seva Trust’ for the past several months. The arrested persons will be forwarded to court after their medical examination and the rescued woman will be sent to a rehabilitation centre,” the senior official in Lingaraj police station expressed.
