Sexual harassment slur against Odisha medical officer

Bhawanipatna: An ASHA worker of Odisha’s Kalahandi has accused a medical officer of the district of sexually harassing her.

Acting on a complaint lodged by the ASHA worker, Kegaon police have registered a case under Sections 354 and 509 of the IPC against the accused medical officer, identified as Amlan Keshari Nayak.

According to reports, Nayak allegedly used to force the complainant to have physical relation with him. The medical officer also groped her at his chamber with an intention of outraging her modesty, the ASHA worker alleged.

She has further accused the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) of requesting her to withdraw the case. On the other hand, the accused has refuted the charges saying that she has levelled false allegations against him following a dispute between the two.
