Shah Rukh sends Rs 4,500 for Aryan Khan’s canteen expenses; Aryan video calls SRK, Gauri from jail

Mumbai/Bhubaneswar: Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, whose son Aryan Khan is currently lodged at Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail in a drugs case, sent a money order amounting to Rs 4,500 dated October 11 for Aryan’s canteen expenses, India Today reported.

As per norms, a prisoner can receive a money order of maximum Rs 4500 per month for their expenses inside the jail.

Aryan also spoke to his parents– Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan– via video call from the jail, today. Prisoners in the jail are being allowed to speak to their family members through video call twice a week due to the Covid-19 protocols, the report said.

The jail authorities gave Aryan Khan a mobile phone, from which he made the video call. Aryan and his parents spoke about what has been happening in the prison, it said.

Aryan Khan has been wearing clothes sent for him from his home while he is only allowed to eat the food provided at jail as no food from outside is allowed. Aryan is not liking the jail food, the report said quoting sources.

The report further said quoting jail sources that Aryan Khan seems disturbed, tense and uncomfortable in the prison. He has to wake up not later than 6 am every morning while breakfast and lunch are provided at 7 am and 11 am, respectively. The inmates are given dinner at 6 pm, after which the barracks are closed.

In a huge setback to Aryan Khan, a Mumbai special NDPS court yesterday reserved its order on his and other co-accused’s bail applications till October 20.
