Shah targets Naveen, promises Odisha’s development under BJP govt

Bhawanipatna: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah today came down heavily on Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik saying that he has failed to carry out development in the state.

Shah, who reached Odisha today on a 2-day visit to the state, while addressing a public meeting at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium here in Kalahandi district, criticised the BJD government and claimed that Odisha will witness an all-round development in the case of formation of a BJP government in the state.

“Around 50 lakh people in Odisha are residing in kutcha houses. The Narendra Modi-government will provide pucca houses to everyone in the state by 2022. Besides, all households in the state will be provided with electricity connectivity before 2021 under Saubhagya yojana,” Shah said.

“Heath services in Odisha have deteriorated and there is lack of required number of doctors. The BJP-government has decided to provide health insurance of Rs 5 lakh each to 10 crore poor families in the country,” he said.

“Around 8.40 lakh children in Odisha are suffering from malnutrition despite aid being sent by the central government,” the BJP national president said.

“As many as 12,442 villages in Odisha lack road connectivity. A BJP CM in the state can provide road to these villages within two years,” Shah said.

“Despite allocation of Rs 45,000 crores by the Central Government for Odisha, CM Naveen Patnaik is unable to ensure development in the state. A BJP government is necessary in Odisha for progress,” he added.

Requesting the people of Odisha to contribute towards formation of a BJP government in the state, Shah said, “We will ensure 24×7 electricity and pure drinking water supply to all villages in Odisha within five years.”
