Shame! Divyang minor girl raped by uncle in Odisha

Rairangpur: A divyang minor girl was allegedly raped by her uncle while she was playing with her minor brother near their house.

The shameful incident was reported from Kuldiha village under Gorumahisani police station in Mayurbhanj district.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the minor girl was playing with her minor sibling at a paddy stalk and their family members were busy at winnowing paddy near the residence.

The accused uncle (father’s brother) advanced towards the minor girl with evil intention and raped her. He threatened the victim if she discloses about the incident to anyone.

However, the victim’s brother, who was the eye witness of the incident, revealed it to the family and subsequently the members indulged in altercation with themselves over the issue.

Source said that the accused even attacked the victim’s mother following which the latter with help of the village ward member lodged a written complaint at the Gorumahisani Police Station.

Based on allegation, the police arrested the accused uncle.

During course of investigation into the incident, the accused person was found to be a juvenile.

The police team headed by IIC PK Swain along with a scientific team from Baripada is currently probing the matter.
