Shame! Minor girl gang-raped in Odisha; hospitalised

Keonjhar: In another shameful incident, a minor girl was allegedly gang-raped while she was returning to home from market in Odisha.

The incident occurred in Jhumpura Police Station area in Keonjhar district.

According to reports, the minor girl was on her way back to home from market when two youth identified as Vickey and Jaga forcefully picked up her on a motorcycle and outraged her modesty inside a room located at an isolated place. While they were travelling along with the girl following gang rape to drop her at home, she fell off the vehicle.

However, the culprits fled from the spot leaving her alone on road. The victim sustained a leg fracture in the incident. Hearing scream of the girl, the locals gathered and rushed her to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in a critical condition for treatment.

With help of Sakhi- One Stop Centre, a complaint has been lodged at Jhumpura Police Station.

While the victim and her mother demanded immediate arrest of the accused persons, Keonjhar DSP (Crime) Suresh Chandra Patra said that the culprits will be nabbed soon following investigation into the incident.
