Shame! Minor girl gang-raped in Rourkela; 3 held

Rourkela: Even as the country has stringiest law against sexual offences on women, the crime continues unabated with another minor girl gangrape incident reported from steel city Rourkela in Odisha.

The minor girl was allegedly gang-raped by three youth under Sector-7 Police limits in Rourkela. The incident occurred on Sept 22.

According to reports, the girl had been to somewhere to perform puja last Sunday. On her way back to home, she was allegedly targeted by three youth. The miscreants took her to an abandoned place near Sector 7 and outraged her modesty.

The police detained three youth following a complaint lodged by the victim yesterday.

Sources said that the investigation is underway in the case.
