Shame! Odisha man held for outraging modesty of mentally challenged woman

Khordha: In a shocking incident, the modesty of a mentally challenged woman was outraged inside a campus of a stone crusher unit near Tapang Chhak, here this morning.

According to reports, the 22-year-old woman, whose mother was employed in a stone crusher unit was alone in her house when a crusher driver of the same unit outraged her modesty.

The accused has been identified as 45-year-old Akshay Kumar Swain, resident of Bijipur in Astaranga.

The victim, who is unable to speak could not raise an alarm to alert the neighbours. However, she informed her mother when the latter returned home from work.

The victim’s mother later lodged a complaint in the Khordha Sadar police station upon which the accused was arrested.
