Shame! Six-year-old minor raped in Odisha’s Kendrapara

Kendrapara: A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth in Palei village under Derabish police limits of Kendrapara district. The shameful incident came to light after grandfather of the minor girl lodged a police complaint today.

The minor girl of Bazar village had gone to her maternal uncle’s house in Palei. While she was visiting a Durga Puja pandal at Nalu Baba Ashram alone, the accused, one Panchanan Nath lured her with a chocolate. Subsequently, he took the girl to a secluded place and raped her.

When the girl returned home, she narrated the details before her family members. Later, her grandfather lodged a written complaint, based on which the Derabish police launched an investigation. Both the minor girl and accused were sent for medical examinations.

“The youth had asked the minor girl not to disclose the incident before anyone. I have lodged a police complaint and have complete faith that justice will be done,” said the minor girl’s grandfather.
