Bhubaneswar: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor today found himself in the middle of a controversy after he posted a selfie with several women MPs on Twitter, saying that Lok Sabha is an "attractive place" to work.
"Who says the Lok Sabha isn’t an attractive place to work? With six of my fellow MPs this morning," Tharoor captioned the photo.

As netizens reacted sharply over the post, Tharoor issued a clarification. "The whole selfie thing was done (at the women MPs' initiative) in great good humour & it was they who asked me to tweet it in the same spirit. I am sorry some people are offended but i was happy to be roped in to this show of workplace camaraderie. That's all this is," he said.

Below are some of the reactions by Twitterati.
Women in the Lok Sabha are not decorative items meant to make your workspace "attractive". They are parliamentarians and you are being disrespectful adn sexist.

Are you being attracted by women only? Don’t you think your responsibility towards your constituency makes your workplace attractive

“Attractive” Ewww you would be sacked in any other sector for using that word to refer to your female colleagues.

This man can't see male MPs in parliament.

With all due respect, this is a creepy statement to make.

Elected to practice attraction games?

U are in parliament to work for the people who elected you ...not for finding attraction
Do some work and make valuable use of tax payers money ....
