Shiv Sunder Das named batting coach of India women’s team

Mumbai/Bhubaneswar: The Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI) today appointed former India opener Shiv Sunder Das as batting coach of the Senior India Women’s Cricket team.

The 43-year-old Das will join Ramesh Powar-led support staff for the Senior India Women’s Cricket team’s England tour in June. The India women’s team will play a Test, three ODIs and as many T20Is in England between June 16 and July 15.

Shiv Sunder Das, who hails from Odisha, played 23 Tests for India between 2000 and 2002. He hit 1326 runs, including two hundred.

Worth mentioning, Ramesh Powar was named as the head coach of the Senior women’s team last week.

The BCCI named Abhay Sharma, former Delhi wicketkeeper, as the fielding coach of the women’s side.
