Bhubaneswar: Despite stringent law against sexual assault, a shocking incident came to light in Bhubaneswar where an eight-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by four minor boys.
The incident was reported from a slum area under Khandagiri police limits in Bhubaneswar.
The matter came to fore after Khandagiri police produced four minor boys before the Juvenile Justice Board in a gangrape case on Friday
According to reports, the four minor boys aged between 8 and 13 years had called the minor girl while she was playing alone at the slum. As she was familiar to those boys, she went with them without smelling their wrong intention.
The wrongdoers took her to an isolated place and outraged her modesty. The victim told her mother about the incident happened with her. The senior people in the slum tried to suppress the matter, however, the victim’s mother revolted and informed the police about it.
Based on complaint by the victim’s family, the Khandagiri police detained four accused minor boys on Thursday night and conducted medical test. Later, the statements of the minor boys were recorded in which they all confessed to their crime.
