Shocking!!! Body of newborn found stashed in a bag in Odisha capital

Local police today recovered the body of a newborn child from bushes near Sai Temple on Tankapani Road in Odisha capital.

According to reports, a man was walking down the road near Sai Temple who spotted a bag along the road in the bushes. Out of curiosity, he picked the bag to find out a dead baby boy inside it. While he was shell-shocked to find the lifeless newborn, crowd swelled on the road with each passing moment.

Locals informed the Saheed Nagar police about the incident owing which the cops rushed to the spot. They recovered the body of the baby boy and sent it to Capital Hospital for post-mortem.

It was not known under what circumstances the baby was found along the road and whether the baby was killed or died after being kept inside the bag.

Police are investigating into the matter after registering a case.

“We are investigating into the matter. Strict action would be initiated against the person, if identified,” Sahid Nagar police station IIC Kishore Chandra Mund said.
