Shocking! Old man thrashed to death by wife, son in Odisha

In a shocking incident, an old man was allegedly thrashed to death with stick and iron rod by his wife and son in Cuttack district of Odisha today.

The deceased has been identified as Fakir Mohanty of Kokipada village under Govindpur police limits in the district.

Body of the sexagenarian was found lying in his home and his son, identified as Pintu, fled the spot after committing the murder.

Police arrived at the spot after being informed and sent the body for post mortem.

Meanwhile, police have detained deceased’s wife, Kumudini Mohanty, for questioning.

She has revealed before police that his son thrashed his husband to death with stick despite her protest. Further investigations are on, said a police official.
