Shops allowed to open till 8 pm in Odisha’s Ganjam
Berhampur: Shops and markets in Ganjam district will be allowed to remain open from 5 am to 8 pm daily from tomorrow. This was informed by Ganjam District Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange in a tweet today. Earlier, the shops were allowed to do business from 5 am to 4 pm.
However, weekend shutdown will remain in force in the district as per the Odisha government’s guidelines, he added.
The Collector appealed shopkeepers and customers to follow social distancing norms and wear masks.
Today a total of 271 COVID-19 patients were detected in the district whereas 265 patients recuperated from the disease. So far, as many as 16,349 persons in the district have tested positive for the virus. The recovery count in the district is at 14,444. A total of 174 corona patients died of the disease in the district.
