Show cause notice issued to these Odisha Colleges for less than 25% admission

Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education department has issued show cause notice to 13 Degree colleges across Odisha where less than 25% admission was reported in last three years.

In a letter to the Principals of these Degree colleges, Commissioner-cum-Secretary Saswat Mishra asked them to give an explanation by February 10, 2020 as to why recognition of the educational institutions shall not be withdrawn under Section 6B of the Odisha Education Act 1969, from the next academic year.

During the last three years e-admission data shows that number of students admitted to these 13 colleges was less than 25% of the sanctioned strength.

The show cause notice issued to the colleges are: Apex Residential Degree (+3) College of Sc. & Commerce, Kamagarh; Kshetrapal Sanskrit (Degree) College, Kendrapara; Sriram Sanskrit (Degree) College, Kendrapara; Brihaspati (Degree) College, Joda; Gyan Bharati Degree College, Macheswar; Gourav College of Commerce, Science & Management, Bhubaneswar, Palasuni; Kalijai Degree College, Balugaon; Brilliance +3 Science College, Kailashchandrapur; Prachi Mahavidyalaya for Diable, Gudiapokhari; Institute of Advanced Studies in Commerce, Anguliapara, Sambalpur; Sukanti (Degree) College, Dhubamunda, Sonepur; Dr. Ambedkar Memorial Degree College, Jabaghat, Rourkela-42, Venus Degree College, Dengibhadi, Sundergarh.
