Bhubaneswar: Odisha Higher Education Department served a showcause notice to seven degree colleges for not sanctioning provisional pension in favour of employees on their date of retirement on attaining age of superannuation.

The showcause notice was issued on July 15 asking the college authorities to reply within three days for initiation of disciplinary action by the competent authority.

As per the notice, as many as 11 employees including seven Readers are yet to receive their provisional pension after their retirement.

Giving one more opportunity to these colleges, the department directed the college authorities to sanction the provisional pension in favour of retired employees by July 19 and report the compliance in this regard through email to [email protected].
