Shula Vrat is devoted to Lord Shiva and is kept during the Tamil month of Pushya. It is primarily observed in the southern states of India.

Tithi Begins: January 31, 2022 2:18 PM.
Tithi Ends: February 01, 2022 11:15 AM.
Rituals: Observer of this vrat wakes up early in the morning and takes bath. The devotees offer prayers to the form of Lord Shiva holding the ‘shula’, the three-headed spear.
The idol of the Lord is anointed with ‘abhishekam’, a ritual in which God is bathed with milk, curd, ghee, sugar and honey.
Special offerings called as ‘naivedyam’ is prepared and offered to Lord Shiva and Devi Parvati.
It is also important to visit a Lord Shiva temple and worship there.
The vrat observer also makes donations to the devotees of Lord Shiva.
The observers keep fast and food is eaten only once on the day along with other devotees.
Significance: It is believed that one who observes Shula Vrat is blessed by Lord Shiva and bestowed with good health and will remain free from serious diseases all his/ her life.
