Shun vulgar dance at govt programmes, new Culture secy tells collectors

Two days after assuming charge as Culture secretary, Arabinda Kumar Padhee today issued a circular to all district Collectors to promote classical song and dance, folk song and dance and devotional songs while organising cultural programme using government fund.

The move is meant to discourage cheap and vulgar film song based dance programmes, said sources.

Padhee has asked all collectors to adhere to the directive while staging cultural programmes at government functions.
