Shutdown declared in this municipality area of Odisha

Keonjhar: With an aim to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Keonjhar District Administration today announced a shutdown in Anandpur municipality. As per an order issued by Keonjhar Collector Ashish Thakare, the shutdown will be effective from 5 am on July 27 to 5 am on August 2 in the municipality area.

Shops selling groceries, vegetables and milk will remain open from 7 am to 2 pm during the shutdown period, the order stated adding all medical establishments including hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, medicine stores will be allowed during the shutdown.

Construction and commercial activities in the municipality area will remain closed, the order added.

All State government, Central government and private institutions will also remain closed.

During the shutdown, apart from essential movement, inter-district public and private transport has been strictly restricted.

Meanwhile, the district administration relaxed the shutdown norms in Barbil area. Shops have been allowed to do business from 7 am to 2 pm whereas banks will be opened for public from 8 am to 12 noon.

Till yet, as many as 610 persons from the district tested positive for coronavirus.
