Shuttle Smashers 2022 conclues at ASTHA School of Management

Bhubaneswar: The two-day Shuttle Smashers (Whack n’ win) – ASTHA Inter B-School Open Door Badminton Championship concluded here at ASTHA School of Management on Sunday. This year, the mega sporting event witnessed more than 100 teams, both in women’s and men’s doubles category from 60 different universities, institutes and corporate houses across the state.

The mega sporting event was inaugurated by Rt. Bijay Kumar Patra (Chairman) and other esteemed trustees of Shree Panchamukhi Educational & Charitable Trust on Friday. Dr. Bankim Mohanty (Executive Director-cum-Secretary) welcomed all the participants and Prof. (Dr.) Sharmila Subramanian (Principal) delivered the theme address. Somanath Hansdah, Chief Vigilance Officer, NALCO, acting as Chief Guest of the valediction ceremony on the concluding day, emphasized the importance of sports in building a strong personality. Guest of Honour, Olympian Anuradha Biswal encouraged all the B-School students and suggested to lead a goal-oriented life.

The second day of Shuttle Smashers 2022 witnessed the Corporate League where teams from NALCO, GPIL, RBI, Tata Steel, Infosys, Bank of Baroda, Reliance Industries, Flipkart, Canara Bank etc. captivated the crowd by displaying their swashbuckling whacking skills. Shree Financial Solution won the Champions Trophy in the corporate league. In the B-School round, Koustuv Institute of Professional Studies (KIPS) emerged as Champion in men’s doubles category and received cash prize of Rs. 10,000. NMIET received cash prize of Rs. 7,000/- as winner in women’s doubles category. The two-day mega sporting event was coordinated by Prof. Nandita Mohapatra, Prof. Abhipsa Mishra and Prof. Rupali Paikray.

The sporting extravaganza was co-sponsored by NALCO, GPIL, Wright Syndicate and supported by Oppo, Green Trends, Sports Boutique, Micro Garments, Odisha Maritime and Suchi Makeup Studio.
