Similipal National Park to reopen for visitors from Nov 1

Baripada: The Similipal National Park, which had remained out of bounds to public since May this year due to COVID-19 second wave, will reopen for tourists from November 1.

Informing this, authorities of the national park said visitors will be allowed to enter the park from Kaliani and Pithabata gates. Ticket counters will be set up at the two gates for the purpose. Besides, eco cottages will also be made available for the tourists inside the national park.

Bookings for night halting at eco cottages at Gudgudia, Kumari, Ramtirtha, Barehipani and Jamuani can be done at www.ecotourodisha.com, said an official. However,  all COVID-19 guidelines will be strictly followed at the national park, he added.

The authorities had closed the national park for visitors for indefinite period from May 1 this year following a rise in COVID-19 cases.
