Baripada: The Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) and National Park reopened for tourists today. The sanctuary was closed since June 16 for monsoon.
Tourists can now log on to www.ecotourodisha.com and book their stay inside the park. Visitors can also book tickets at the two ticket counters at the entry points of the sanctuary.
STR, one of the largest national parks in the country, is globally acclaimed for being home to Melanistic Royal Bengal Tiger. The tiger reserve remain close from mid June to October end every year as road communication gets disrupted due to monsoon rain.
Sources said the authorities have made all necessary arrangements to welcome the tourists.
